I burnt my tongue.

I did.

Not instantly, but gradually over several bowls of soup, cups of tea, and things that were generally just too damned hot.

A stripe, right across the front of my tongue.

It hurts like a bitch and is all red and stuff.

But it happens.

It'll pass.
